It's been a couple weeks since I posted, because the laptop I normally use is spending more time in the shop than on the desk. Woe, woe, woe. Actually, when it wasn't ready in time for our trip to San Francisco (4 days), I resigned myself. I just hope I don't have to get a new one right now. I'd like to wait until the bugs are worked out of Vista. Grrr.
Still, it made the vacation a real vacation. Plus, I took notebooks (remember them?) and did some prep work for a writing project and actually drafted a bit. This one, I don't know where it's going to go, but I've got 6 voices going around a central issue, all of them 16-17. It's at the fun stage.
Now, to get a big paying project off my desk so that I have some time for creative writing. My good intentions of writing for myself every work day from 7-9 have had to go by the wayside for the past few weeks. An unrealistically short deadline and the vacations meant that something had to give. But it's ok.
I just finished reading a really good YA book. It's been out a couple years, but 13 Little Blue Envelopes is a real treat. The premise might be a bit far-fetched, but the character is enjoyable, and seeing Europe through Ginny's eyes was a real pleasure, as was watching her come out of her shell.
Anyway, have a great rest of the weekend, friends.
