I don't make hay, but I do get me to my local CSA:
Here's what I found:
I love my CSA!
I'm so glad I went when I did, because the reason I have time to make this post is that, on what was supposed to be the first sunny day in weeks, we are having a shower, so I can't go out and move wood.
Writing accomplishments for the week: 2 humorous pieces for the local paper about The Great Sorting, hereafter to be called TGS. After I see the printed versions, I'm going to post the text, with additional photos, here, probably friends-locked. I'm also working on a longer essay on the same subject (TGS), which I may have a market for.
I guess this is why I couldn't dive back into THE GROVE. I needed to purge myself of TGS first. But it will be purged, just as it will also, one day (soon, please, soon) be over.

1. My morning LJ browse was interrupted by the phone. Not a potential agent, but a short-notice writing gig that will bring in a bit of unexpected $. I can do this.
2. Never underestimate the power of nettworking. It's how I got the job (see #1). The person who called had read something I've written elsewhere and we'd met in person.
3. My fridge is once again filled with fresh veggies from my winter CSA. White potatoes, turnips, red cabbage, but also tomatillos, greens for braising, onions, and garlic.
4. I don't know how I'm going to get everything done. I've got to cover a two-part meeting, visit my parents to see how my father is recovering from knee surgery, and attend a board meeting. All this weekend. Driving in two different directions. It will happen.
5. We're enjoying lovely warm weather (50 degrees plus at 9 am) that makes it so very tempting to get outdoors. Must write first.
